OUr Mission

Believing that music has the power to inspire, the students of Pleasant Grove High School's Orchestra Program will fulfill this mission by using their skills as musicians to continually grow their minds and hearts and share these gifts with their community.  We believe that music has the power to bridge divides and believe through hard work, dedication, new experiences, and courage, that students will grow not only as musicians, but will carry the skills learned as excellent musicians to their futures as leaders in the world.

About mrs. gurney

Mrs. Jessica Gurney feels it is an immense privilege to conduct and lead the orchestras of Pleasant Grove High School.  She has played the violin since the age of four and attended Pleasant Grove High School herself.  After her time at PGHS, she attended the University of Utah where she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Violin Performance with an emphasis in Pedagogy.  She has taught private violin lessons for twenty four years and she is in her sixth year of teaching at PGHS.  She loves music of all kinds, reading, sushi, spending time with her family, and truly loves to work with students and be a part of their journey as musicians.
